Casa Mona is situated near Santo Domingo, Garafia at 500 m above sealevel at the edge of the pine woods. It is one of the best climate zones of the island with lots of sun, protection against the strong winds and comfortable temperature all the year.

House and Equipment :

Casa Mona is a large, completely rebuilt traditional country house with 101 m2. The saloon offers Sat-TV (Astra), HiFi-equipment, DSL-internet-connection, telephone, comfortable couches, computer desk and access to 2 terraces with garden seats, table and beds; one terrace always offers shade. The large living kitchen is completely equipped with 4-flame electric herd, stove and grill, coffeemachine etc. Both sleeping rooms are really large, one has a doble bed (160 cm x 200 cm), the other has 2 single beds (90 cm x 200 cm) with excellent matrasses. The huge bathroom also has a washing machine.

Prices :

If you rent the house with one sleeping room (2 persons): € 55,- / day, all inclusive, even the 24-h-DSL-internet-connection, phone calls to landline phones, cleaning, electricity, water and taxes !

each additional person : € 6,- / day.

Activities :

Casa Mona serves as central departing point for trekking (preferred area on La Palma), biking and excursions into the forest mountains of the north, up to the Roque de Los Muchachos (7.100 ft.), to the tile woods and the wild northern coast, to the royal paths like the one to El Palmar or directly below to the best secret tips among the natural beaches of La Palma, not mentioned in most travel guides:
1.  Puerto de Garafía, natural port, bay and lonely, idyllic sand beach behind the grotesque rocky islands "Los Guinchos" (see air photo left or more in the tab "Luftbilder" above > north-west).

2.  Callejoncito, a phantastic sand beach with huge cave with access to the sea, more caves around the beach, where you can always find some shade.

3.  Puerto de Lomada Grande, natural port (bay) with natural pool (ideal for children) and impressive water fountains emerging from gigantic holes in the rocks.
